OLAC Resources: Earning Credit and Contact Hours
The Ohio Leadership Advisory Council offers university credit through Ashland University, Bowling Green State University, and Kent State University. In addition, Ohio teachers, principals and superintendents can earn credit and work toward license renewal with OLAC resources.
How can I receive the credit?
OLAC has partnered with the Ohio Department of Education to create a template that can help participants integrate the OLAC modules into their individual professional development plan (IPDP) to be approved by the Regional Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC). Educators can use this template to indicate how they will use the OLAC online learning modules and tools to participate in high-quality professional development and meet professional development goals to receive their LPDC approval prior to completing work!
What’s it Worth?
OLAC provides LPDCs with the following rubric for awarding contact hours:
- Two contact hours for viewing the complete content of each module - viewing a webinar and downloading a certificate of completion. The certificate of completion requires that the user complete a discussion question, which becomes a part of the certificate of completion. Use the IPDP Approval Form listed below to request credit approval.
Prefer podcasts?
Podcasts may also be used for credit. Participants may receive one hour of credit through their LPDC by listening to three podcasts and downloading a certificate of completion for each podcast. Each certificate of completion requires the user to complete a discussion question, which becomes a part of the certificate of completion.Learn more about earning credit and contact hours.
Don’t forget to check out some our newly updated resources that can be used to earn credit:
- Learning Supports (Module)
- Educational Equity: Understanding Why It’s So Important (Module)
- Instruction (Module)
- Resource Management (Module)
Please Note: The LPDC must approve the work before the work is completed. To receive approval, participants should Download the IPDP Approval Form and send the completed form to their LPDC for approval.
OLAC also offers in-person and Google Classroom facilitated workshops! Learn more about topics, here!
