Leadership
A Message from OLAC Leadership
Ohioans have many reasons to be proud of our educational system. Since the year 2000, Ohio has steadily built a standards-based educational system that clarifies content standards in every subject and grade level and aligns curriculum and assessments to those standards. With this nationally recognized system in place, Ohio students are achieving at higher levels than ever before.
"At OLAC we believe that shared leadership is the responsibility of ALL educators."
As co-directors of OLAC, we are privileged to assist with work that not only positively impacts student achievement, but also partners with such influential leaders in education to do so, particularly the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) and the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA). Through this partnership, representation from a large number of professional organizations, and decades of experience from practicing professionals, we believe we are positioned to provide educators at every level with the tools, resources, and knowledge they need now more than ever before.
At OLAC we believe that shared leadership is the responsibility of ALL educators. We're proud to offer a framework along with other online learning resources to move shared leadership development forward in a systematic way. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to ODE and BASA, who had the vision and courage to initiate this project. Also, thank you to the members of OLAC, and all those involved in developing OLAC resources. As a result of your efforts, research-based leadership practices are being implemented in many more districts, buildings, and classrooms across Ohio and are having a positive impact on student performance.
The Ohio Leadership Advisory Council is a partnership between the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and the Buckeye Association of School Administrators.
