Two Educational Leaders Talk About Internal Accountability
Video: Two Educational Leaders Talk About Internal Accountability
Dr. Stephen Barr, Assistant Commissioner of Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Dr. John Englehart, Superintendent of Painesville City Local Schools in Ohio share their perspectives on internal accountability. Dr. Barr sees internal, or intrinsic, motivation as a much more effective driver of school improvement than (external) accountability. Dr. Englehart also sees internal accountability as key to improving learning. In his district, accountability focuses on implementing the instructional framework with fidelity.
