One SSTs Review of The Facilitator Hub

I recently followed the recommendation of the banners flashing across the OLAC website and checked out the section called "The Facilitator Hub." Nestled into a section of the website under the CERTIFIED FACILITATORS tab, I found a framework and a series of tools that will prove extremely useful for SST consultants and others supporting the OIP.

One of our biggest challenges as regional facilitators is our ability to stay current and connected ourselves as we work within a system where best practice is constantly evolving. The ability to obtain and analyze data rapidly means that we have to be ready to respond rapidly, as state and federal requirements for improvement change regularly, district leadership changes frequently, and even facilitators of the OIP turnover.

Within The Facilitator Hub, the "OIP Cornerstone Connection" will be the vehicle for learning about current practices of other SST consultants, something we have missed since the days of regional consultant meetings. One current article tells the story of the close collaboration with ESC partners in developing Principals' and Aspiring Principals' networks to foster understanding and use of the Essential Leadership Practices identified by OLAC. Another article describes the use of collaborative strategies to organize the work and the analysis of the effectiveness of the work within the formal and informal meetings of the SST. All of the articles are valuable sources for ideas and discussion for other SSTs and OIP facilitators.

The "Helpful Downloads and Links" section could develop into a valuable resource as we as regional consultants share the tools and resources that we have found or created and that have been useful to us in our work with districts. The ability to search or pose questions to the folks at OLAC would take us all to another level of regional collaboration.
